It’s a paper airplane folding time! It is going to be bigger and better than ever as the Pima Air & Space Museum opens registration for the 6th Annual Great Paper Airplane Fly-Off. Scheduled for April 8, 2017 at the Museum, children ages 6-14 can put their paper airplane folding abilities to the test by signing up for the competition on-line here. Registration for this year’s event will be limited to the first 350 contestants. On the day of the Fly-Off each registered contestant and up to four of their family members will be admitted into the Museum free of charge for the day.
The 6th Annual Great Paper Airplane Fly-Off will once again be governed by Ken Blackburn, Guinness World Record holder of the longest time aloft at 27.6 seconds and come alive with DJing by DJ Dave Fuller. The competition will be divided into three age brackets: 6-8, 9-11 and 12-14 years old, with each bracket being judged on flight distance. There will be a crowned winner of each age bracket and their name will be placed on a perpetual trophy in the Great Paper Airplane Project permanent exhibit at the Museum.
