The Fly-Off Wrap-Up

The Great Paper Airplane Fly-Off soared into the indoor skies of the main hangar at Pima Air & Space Museum on Saturday, January 14th. Nearly 200 children folded, fine-tuned and flew their paper planes in an attempt to become a member of our giant paper airplane build team.

Thanks to all who came out! Check out the full gallery of Fly-Off photos here.

The event was very well organized and my family had a great time. It was also timely since my son’s science fair project is on paper airplanes. We’re looking forward to watching the big plane launch. Thank you to all who worked on this event!

We had a wonderful time at the great paper airplane fly-off! Both my sons ages 9&11 entered the contest and had a great time. We thank the staff for allowing us to come and make memories to last.

It was a great time and the kids all had a good time. My only comment is if the kids are told they should not step over the line when throwing the plane, someone should keep an eye to ensure that happens. I saw several instances where kids stepped over the line, whats the point of having a rule if you are not going to enforce it?

My family had a wonderful time! We really enjoyed being able to visit the museum as well! My son asked if we could do this again next year? We all love the shirts the pilots received–great design and slogan! We do hope you consider doing a similar event again. It was well organized and a blast!

My daughter and I had a great time at this event! Our six-year old, Sage, was not interested in entering the contest–that is until we got there and saw what an amazing event it was! I was in awe of how well-organized the whole thing was! Sage had a blast, and we both look (hopefully) forward to next year’s event!
